Short version: Sorec is an AI agent that helps you make plans with other people. Show up when you commit, be kind to people you're matched with, and remember that we're a coordinator — the actual plans happen between you, other users, and venues in the real world.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Sorec ("we", "us", "our") — operated from Pune, India — when you use our WhatsApp agent, our website, or any related service (together, the "Service").
By messaging Sorec on WhatsApp or using our website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What Sorec is
Sorec is a personal social concierge: an AI agent that helps you turn "we should do something" into confirmed plans. It suggests activities based on your interests, coordinates with other Sorec users and venues on your behalf, collects payments where applicable, and handles logistics like reminders and cancellation replacements.
Sorec is a facilitator, not a party to the plans you make. We are not the organiser of the sports games, classes, gatherings, or events you attend. We don't operate the venues you visit. We don't vouch for the people you meet.
Who can use Sorec
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a functioning WhatsApp account and an active Indian mobile number (at launch, we serve Pune only).
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.
- Not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law.
Your account & information
Your Sorec identity is tied to your WhatsApp phone number. You're responsible for keeping that WhatsApp account secure — if someone gets access to your WhatsApp, they can impersonate you with Sorec.
Information you provide must be accurate. Specifically:
- Don't misrepresent your identity, skill level, age, or availability.
- Don't create multiple accounts to game the matching system.
- Don't use someone else's payment details without their permission.
How you should behave
Sorec exists because coordination is hard and because people are kind when they're given a chance. Keep that spirit.
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, abuse, or discriminate against anyone you're matched with.
- Use the Service to solicit, promote, or sell unrelated products or services.
- Contact matched users outside the context of the confirmed plan, or after they've declined to continue.
- Share information about matched users (photos, phone numbers, private conversations) outside the plan.
- Use Sorec for anything illegal, fraudulent, or endangering — including scalping, money laundering, unlicensed commercial events, or gatherings restricted by law.
- Attempt to probe, reverse-engineer, or manipulate the AI agent or its matching logic.
- Scrape, crawl, or automate the Service without our written permission.
If you behave badly, we can suspend or terminate your account without notice, and in some cases we may notify the people you harmed or the relevant authorities.
Showing up (the reliability system)
When you confirm a plan through Sorec, other people are counting on you. We track whether confirmed users actually show up, and we use this to build a reliability score visible to future matches.
- Cancel when you know. If you can't make it, tell us as early as possible so Sorec can find a replacement.
- No-shows count. Repeatedly confirming plans and not showing up will lower your reliability score and may limit who you can be matched with.
- Pattern abuse. Intentionally wasting other users' time, money, or venue capacity can result in account suspension.
Payments, bookings & refunds
Some activities are paid. When you confirm a paid plan, Sorec collects payment on behalf of the venue or event organiser through a licensed payment processor (Razorpay, Stripe, or similar). You authorise us to charge the payment method you provide.
Refund and replacement rules
- If another user cancels and Sorec successfully finds a replacement before the plan starts, the cancelling user is refunded; nothing changes for you.
- If Sorec cannot find a replacement and the plan is called off, all participants are refunded, minus any non-refundable venue fees already paid.
- If you cancel within the window stated for your activity, you'll be refunded per that policy; outside the window, the fee may be forfeited.
- Venue-issued refunds (for venue cancellations, venue closures, or force majeure) pass through Sorec but are governed by the venue's own refund policy.
We're facilitators — we do not unilaterally refund amounts owed to venues or hosts. If something goes wrong, email support@sorec.app and we'll work with the relevant party to resolve it.
Meetings in the real world
Sorec introduces you to other users and venues, but we don't run background checks. Use your own judgment. Meet in public spaces for first-time activities. Tell a friend where you're going. If something feels wrong, leave and report it.
You acknowledge that Sorec is not responsible for any in-person interactions, including but not limited to injuries, theft, harassment, venue conditions, transport, or the quality of activities hosted by third parties.
AI suggestions are not advice
Sorec's suggestions are generated by AI based on your inputs and available data. They are not:
- Professional advice (medical, legal, fitness, financial, or otherwise).
- Guarantees that an activity, venue, or match will meet your expectations.
- A substitute for confirming details directly with venues and hosts.
Always verify venue addresses, start times, pricing, and accessibility before acting on a booking.
Intellectual property
The Service, including the Sorec name, logo, agent, code, designs, and content we publish, is owned by Sorec and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any of it without our written permission.
Your content. You keep ownership of what you send us. By sending content (messages, photos, profile details), you grant Sorec a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it solely to provide the Service, improve our systems, and comply with law.
Early product disclaimer
Suspension & termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Service at any time — with or without notice — if we believe you've violated these Terms, created risk for other users, or if we need to comply with a legal request. You may stop using the Service at any time by messaging /delete to Sorec on WhatsApp or emailing hello@sorec.app.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, or accuracy of AI outputs.
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your expectations, that suggested activities will be enjoyable, that matched users will be compatible, or that bookings will be honoured by venues.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sorec's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of:
- The total amount you've paid to Sorec in the 12 months before the claim arose, or
- ₹10,000 (ten thousand rupees).
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, punitive, or exemplary damages — including lost opportunities, missed events, or emotional distress — even if advised of their possibility.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited (for example, liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct under Indian law).
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sorec, its founders, employees, and partners from any claim, loss, or expense arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, (b) your interactions with other users or venues, or (c) your content submitted to the Service.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Pune, Maharashtra.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be announced via WhatsApp at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the new Terms.
